Intigate Foundation (“Foundation,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits intigatefoundation.org (“Site”) or interacts with us as a donor, fundraiser, volunteer, or visitor. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it.

This Policy is framed with reference to India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (“DPDP Act”). If you are located outside India, your data may still be processed in accordance with this Policy and applicable local law.

2. What personal data we collect

We only collect data you choose to give us, or that is generated automatically when you use the Site.

Information you provide directly, e.g. through our contact form:

If you donate to us (once online donations are enabled): payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, [payment gateway name], and are not stored on our own servers. We only receive confirmation of the transaction, your name, and contact details.

If you apply to volunteer or fundraise on our behalf, we may collect additional details relevant to that role, such as your location, availability, or areas of interest.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as health, financial account, or biometric information) unless you voluntarily share it with us, for example in a message.

3. How we use your data

We use personal data only for the purposes for which it was collected, including to:

  • Respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form
  • Process and acknowledge donations
  • Coordinate volunteer and fundraising activity
  • Send updates about our work, where you have agreed to receive them
  • Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site
  • Comply with legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations

4. Legal basis for processing

Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data based on:

  • Your consent: for example, when you submit the contact form or subscribe to updates
  • Legitimate uses: such as responding to a request you have made, or complying with a legal obligation

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Service providers who help us run the Site or process donations (e.g. our hosting provider, email service, and payment gateway), bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Government or regulatory authorities, where required by law
  • A successor organisation, in the event of a merger or restructuring of the Foundation

We do not transfer personal data outside India except where a service provider we use (such as our hosting or email provider) operates servers abroad, in which case we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.

6. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law (for example, financial records related to donations may be retained for the period required under Indian tax and accounting regulations). Contact form enquiries are retained for [X months/years] unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erase your data, where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint about how we’ve handled your data

9. Children’s data

The Site is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
